Hey all, back with a pretty quick drawing for today! Starglass Zodiac’s anniversary isn’t for a few months yet, but in organizing my laptop files I came across the development art for this story, including the first digital drawing of Cassie, so I felt like redrawing it. I never posted the original drawing anywhere publicly at the time because I was too scared to post my human character drawings, but I did talk about the origins of the story in a post for the third anniversary, so the original drawing is here if you want to see it:

First off, OH BOY did my art style change! In redrawing this I had to make some conscious decisions to NOT exaggerate and use certain shapes for parts of it to maintain the likeness. Cassie was originally going to be around 15-16 years old for this story, but as soon as her shape language started becoming more defined (and rounder) she appeared closer to 13-14 years old like she is now. As it stands, this version looks like it could be current Cassie’s older sister, lol.

I even sampled the colours from the OG drawing for extra authenticity. I wasn’t going to shade it, but after adding the flats I realized the colours don’t work without the shading jskdfhkshfjks. Past me was not as good at colours, but you can thank this drawing for Cassie’s red theming and weird hair colour. She still has hair that doesn’t make any sense though, what a champ xD
