If there's one thing I know about my work, it's that I carry a lot of strength in symbolism. In my family, the birds shown here hold a lot of significance.

Now that the funeral procession for my grandma has come to a close, this feels a lot more final. I had attempted to make something when I lost my grandpa 4 years ago, but for one reason or another, I never finished it.

I'm not sure if making this more symbolic than literal is my way of making it feel less real, but I do consider this a tribute to both of them, in whatever way it can be.
