Finally got around to designing a character after a spider that spooked me a few days ago. As far as I can tell it’s some kind of white crab spider, but my arachnophobia did not garner more than a brief Google search. xD

Since I’ve already got a character based on a Black Widow, I thought it might be interesting to have her backstory relate to his. This character is Arack’s great-grandmother, a legendary swordsman in the village of Shadow’s Burrow, the original birthplace of Arack’s father, Xereth. Her tough sensibilities and long absences did not give Xereth much of a childhood, and he, as her only son, was expected to follow in her footsteps. Despite becoming the ruler of Arack’s birthplace, that never seemed to be enough, and the tension between his and his wife’s kingdom didn’t help matters. When Xereth attempted to appeal to the spirits and give Arack divine abilities, he was convinced that it was the White Spider’s spirit coming back to spite him. Arack never knew his great-grandmother outside of her legends, but he came to wonder the same, ultimately paying for the rocky relationships in his lineage.
