Amits a great journey our travelers rest for the night in the middle of the massive desert as they quickly start a fire

Howl: well Kanon you should try and get some shut eye, long journey ahead of us

Kanon: Howl?... could you tell me more about my father?

Howl: *pauses for a short time giving a plastered smile* sure Kanon...your father was a great man....he was renown throught shore...no man or beast could touch him

Kanon: wow *as he stares in amazment* do you think ill be able to see him one day?...i wish i could remember what he looked like..

Howl: *pats the boys head* im sure you will soon boy

as the child heads to bed Howl stand outside watching the night sky as a single tear falls down his face

Howl: *talks to himself* yes Kanon....i do remember your father..his smile...his face.....the look he gave me when..i....i hold these memories, hoping i never have to share them, im an idiot, he will figure it out sooner or later

Howl heres a slight rustle from the tent as he goes to Kanons side, seems he had a bad dream, he pets the boys head as the restless movments stop

Howl:....secrets or not....when and if he learns of the truth, i will be by his side....even if he dosnt want me there

howl leaves the tent sitting by the now fading fire

Howl: its best he forgets me...one more memory he cant obtain is just another burden

howl blows out the embers looking out to the long dessert

Kanon: howl? could you sleep with me tonight?....i dont want to be alone anymore....

howls paws clench the sand hearing the boys sweet words as he shrugs his head to his paw wiping his face, putting on a smile for young kanon

Howl: sure boy...anything for you

howl walks into the tent as a single tear falls on the ashes of the dead fire

Howl: *thinks to himself* ive done too much to leave him alone.....this is my punishment...keeping this darkness to myself......but i will smile for you Kanon...ill smile threw the pain for you.
