30 mins painting for Marbledaydreams
well, artworks of this quality will be thrown around starting at 1$ tomorrow over my FA... I guess for a few bucks this is fine. I mean it's 30 minutes, but 30 intense hand-wrecking minutes O.O
Holy shit, you really should be charging more! I can't paint this well and I have to charge way more, because my paintings take hours upon hours to finish. What do you do to practice that helps make you this good?
Also, if you're actually selling these for so cheap, I'll take one and give you a tip as well :X
I usually do 20 usd paintings of 2 hours, 3 per week, and 60-100 usd big illustrations about monthly, those take a lot of time.
Tomorrows will be actually a PWYW, I expect a range of payments. However those who can't afford (or don't want to spend) more than 1 usd are still welcome.
And I don't really do any special practice. I just paint all day long for money, and it forces my art through rough practice to get better and faster over time.
Art trade? not fair, I'm a sucker for those... I really shouldn't as I'm in a huge dept and I'm working 16 hrs a day to get out of it.. If you ask me around late february, that would be cool, right now I just don't feel safe enough.
I mean 1$ is not gonna help much either, but it's gonna feed me for a day at least, and I'm in a super pinch right now, so tomorrow is reserved for money-grabbing. wow that sound whiny ^^" sorry. so february?
I just wish I could have the same set-up as you. I would work really hard on paintings like that if I could; I just can't manage to get any business from people. I did a PWYW, spent like 3 hours on something, and made a total of 3 bucks. After that I started charging a lot more, and made about the same amount of commissions, but was able to get more money for them.
Long story short, how do you pull that off? I think you need to charge a bit more, but Im truly envious of your situation where you can actually paint for 16 hours a day and survive off of it. I would love to improve through rigorous training like that.
If you still want to trade in February, I would adore that. But for now, I'm curious to hear how you manage to garner enough attention to do commissions all day long.
