She was to be the Empress. Her daughter would have continued the tradition, and her children and so on. But Emerald was captured and killed by slavers. The very ones who had stolen her mate from her.

The Chernomor, Kieran, was once her Guardian. He found her as she lay dying, and turned her.

She used her renewed life to finish off the killers, then dedicated the rest of her existence to wiping out every other slaver in the world.

No one knew who she was, prior to her death. She learned how to disguise herself, appearing as a completely different delphin, just an incredibly short one. Whispers of the fury contained in her tiny frame spread through the slaver camps. They reached into the heart of Ametiton and Di'aru. She was cheered by the residents of Juv. And no one knew, or could know, who she had been.

Her mission was prematurely ended when, after a series of unlucky incidents, she was cornered and killed. Kieran barely escaped alive.

But now, she waits, having been reborn into the body of one of her descendants. She works her soul's tendrils into the host's, and waits until she can take her over completely.

It's only a matter of time.
