For my Christmas present, my mom took me to get my hair done. This meant a lot of time to sit around and do nothing, unless I brought my sketchbook. That, and I had a partial sketch sitting on my desk that was inspired by a snapped tree trunk saw on the way to her house.

After 45 minutes, this beauty was complete. I see it as a sort of redraw or improvement on this.

I feel like this piece helped me learn a lot about shading and object distribution. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I absolutely love the way it turned out.
I think I may have found a new theme I enjoy working with.

I chose root textures because I wanted it to seem like this was a creature from beneath the dirt, and capable of burrowing through it. For a quick design I think it turned out well.
