More pirates! Because you never can have too many pirates in your gallery, right?

Magnhild Martinelli (left) is one of the most famous pirates on the Faspiaan Ocean (the fictional ocean my story takes place on). She is a powerful blacklisted pirate and is the captain of an all-female crew and their rather unusual ship, the Femme Fatale. Carmen Samara (right) is her first mate. Carmen isn't as well-known as Magnhild but has nonetheless been described as "gracefully ruthless" by those unfortunate enough to have gotten in her way.

I used to draw these two a lot and figured it was about time I did so again. Magnhild's design had begun to stray a bit from my original idea of her, and I wanted to get her looking a bit closer to her initial concept, so I did make a few changes to her look. I didn't make any drastic changes to Carmen's, just added a few extra details and updated her to my current style which apparently involves marginally less terrible anatomy (trust me, if you think my current anatomy is bad, you really don't want to see the old stuff).

Bonus fun fact: Magnhild was actually the second character I ever thought of for the Simian Rapscallion stories, after Mel of course. Magnhild was originally going to have a much more central role in the overall story than I've managed to give her so far, but I'm hoping I'll be able to work her in more later in the series. We shall see!
