Montgomery "Mad Monty" Rabbit sometimes goes by the alias "The Snake", because he once made one apologize to him. He's short on both temper and conception of reality. Manic, paranoid, and unpredictable, his ruthlessness quickly rose him through the ranks of the Lapine Mafia to be the right hand of the mob boss himself, Don Lepus.

When he's kept calm, he's intelligent, erudite, and well-spoken; even scholarly. But the slightest slip on the eggshells from anyone or anything, and he snaps, and goes into a blind, furious rage, usually waking up a day later in restraints in a psych ward...in a jail. But for a weapon so powerful, the Don's pockets are deep, and soon he's out again, reading Chaucer until the next time someone sneezes wrong.

Monty and the Don are close companions, in business and out, as the Don enjoys the company of Monty's well-educated, lucid self and in business, Monty has never once failed to carry out a perfect, brutal hit. He was even present at the day of Don Lepus' daughter's wedding.

Subtlety is not Monty's forte, and he's used as a blunt weapon, for when you both have to get rid of someone, and send a clear message to everyone else. A room decorated with intestines as party streamers is a pretty clear one. According to Don lepus, "Montgomery is like Russian roulette, he might go off in anybody's face any minute. Sending him on a job is like walking into a room full of rabid dogs and throwing them a steak, hoping they go for it and not you." While it seems even the Don himself is slightly afraid of Monty's temper, imagine the fate of a man's enemies, who nails his friends' heads to the floor.

Monty is a hand puppet that goes about to my wrist. The faux fur is from a toddler-size winter jacket gotten second-hand off Craigslist and recycled. The eyes are painted styrofoam balls, the eyebrows are pipecleaners, and his tie is scrap flannel. His whiskers are broom bristles, his teeth are foam rubber sheets in layers, and his jacket collar is from a pair of pants that were in the same bottomless load of old clothes turned to scrap fabric as the tiny jacket. The ears are held up with bits of wire and are poseable.
