There is a book series by the author Chris D'Lacey called "The Last Dragon" series. It's about a college student who is a tenant of a woman who makes clay dragon miniatures. These dragons are real, of course, and each have a special ability.

This little guy is Gadzooks. He belongs to the college student, and offers him prophetic inspiration through telepathic messages that he writes on his notepad. Here, he is thinking deeply about what he wants to write about next.

He likes to contemplate the universe, hang out with his buddy G'reth, and the nickname he was given: "Zookie."

(Side note: Even though the character is by Chris D'Lacey, this picture is original enough that it's hard to call it fanart. In reality, it could be any dragon that was inspired by Gadzooks. Yet, I kinda wanted it to be Zookie, so I'll leave it at that, even though Zookie doesn't have a picture of himself anywhere)

Sketched on paper first, then outlined and colored in Photoshop. Took about 4 hours.

(Another side note: I love the textures on this guy, but the table looks ugly; particleboard I guess?? Lighting is great IMO. Never drawn a dragon like this before, so this was a pleasant first)
