Once they get over the shock of seeing the creature before them, the answer is usually some variation of the same.

"Yeah. Sure. Whatever."

"Just try to keep up."

"Hahahah. If you think you can!"

It's not that the joggers in the park are really so cocky; but the pale naga opposite them is thick, and slow-looking. If he were slimy instead of scaled, he might be able to pass for a slug. He looks like he have a hard time keeping up at a walking pace. And when the joggers take off at a sprint, leaving him behind easily, their confidence seems well-placed.

And yet, they never leave him completely behind. Their behind seems to be precisely what he's focusing on; his eyes leer down at their tight jogging shorts, watching their muscles clench and rub and work with ever bouncing step. They speed up, but he never falls more than a few paces behind.

And when they finally approach the bridge they agreed to as the finish line, it becomes clear that he was toying with them all along; he breezes past them, and back again, carving an arc around them, cutting off their path. Suddenly this doesn't seem like such a good idea. They're well off the jogging path, and there's nobody around but them. He looks at them, their sweat-slickened skin, and licks his lips.

He won before the game even started.
