:v before I did that series of illustrations of moomin & snufkin, I wanted to practice drawing Snufkin a lot. He's a tiny man... with tiny boots. tiny old man!!
these aren't perfect or what I wound up preferring to draw him like, but I like this page of exploration and posing! it's my favorite part of art, moving a character around until I feel I know them.

he may be the reason why i always looked up to the 'not giving a damn, chilling in hot springs' kind of people (remember that episode? cartoon of my childhood)

he's so charming in the anime, which I actually only recently watched! But I do know the hotsprings ep! In the novels he's a little more emotionally vulnerable at times and has some struggles. He makes me feel better for being detached and liking to be alone more than anything!
