Mylith 2016

It's really hard to get Yigs to talk about politics. But when he does, he has some good ideas! So I got the idea to make this after our last discussion. Based off the famous "Hope" poster from Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, it provided a really educational look at shape and the relationship between color and value! I couldn't just grab a photograph and apply some filters in Photoshop, griffins being nonexistent and all, so I had to create everything from scratch. Therefore, I'm pretty proud of the way it turned out! Way out of my artistic comfort zone, but that's not a bad thing.

You'd probably have to know him to understand why "sigh" fits him so well, but I think anyone can sympathize with the feeling of having expectations so low or having none at all and still coming out disappointed. Especially if you have "administrator" or "manager" in your job title.

But the best part of this piece? The original was done in Illustrator, so it's infinitely resizable. That way, you can expect to see this in 30-foot-tall banners when he rules the world with an iron fi- I mean, when he's elected by the public to look after your best interests!

And in case there was any confusion, Mylith is the name of the character. "Yigs" is just my pet name for him. =}

    This is awesome. I saw it pop up in my Twitter feed, and was pretty blown away. Really nice work mimicking that style.
