Another bit of the story. They are currently on their way to a gathering of all packs in the land. A ritual performed only every 20 or so years (haven't worked that out yet :P) But the deer is allowed to go with them because it is not a sacred ritual. But mostly because the alpha and her sons were going as well and didn't want to risk trouble with the deer and other pack members in their absence. The journey takes them several weeks to reach their destination.
Well at least I think I came up with the names for some of the characters:
female alpha-Akita(or Ikita), the two brothers- Krokar and Raven, and the deer is referred to only as Prey sometimes Prayer or Fawn, but I still need to come up with a decent name for him :P
As I said many times before, though the story is progressing I make no promises.
