Leafies are water-loving leviathans that spend most of their time biding gracefully in bodies of water until evening where they surface and hunt as nocturnal predators. Leafies are rare, exotic creatures that resemble legendary sea serpents. While sighting one isn't likely, they often appear to travelers as beautiful siren, without showing their more bestial features. They are generally apex predators of their ecosystems though a singled out Leafy doesn't have as favorable odds.

Leafies are communal creatures and generally have matriarchy families, generally built around a female, her males, and their offspring. Males are very maternal and spend most of their time protecting a nest while females hunt and protect their pod and rival females, as it's very often lone females will try to court from a pod. Though there are plenty of variants in family structures.

o (origins: leafy sea dragons + mermaids/sirens + dragons)
o There's sexual dimorphism, females are larger than males, gender variants included.
o Like seahorses, males will often incubate eggs and hardly leave a nest if there are young to protect.
o When on land they secrete a film so as not to dehydrate, some are poisonous.
o If agitated they quiver their 'leaves' and antennae, thrashing their tails about making a sort of rattling-sound while hissing.
o They are omnivorous, though on farther on either side of the spectrum than the other depending on their habitat.
o They use their massive claws to attack and rip at their prey and their tails to swat and constrict like a serpent.
o Typically very vocal and enjoy singing.
o Their long antennae are moveable and often touch others with them as a sign of affection.
