It's seems tradition now that I start my year off with a sculpture of my favorite Pokemon. :)
This little Growlithe was a commission based off of this adorable TCG card art: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/4/4c/GrowlitheSquirtleDeck26.jpg
I was ecstatic to get a chance to sculpt this, as that is one of my all time favorite Growlithe cards. The pose was a bit more difficult than I had expected, as the card art left a lot of guess work and has some odd anatomy, but I am pretty darn pleased with how he came out. I was incredibly sad to have to give him up, but I'm sure he will be well loved. :)
Growlithe measures about 3.25in tall. He was sculpted from Super Sculpey/Sculpey Firm over a wire and foil armature, painted with acrylic paints, and sealed with a matte finish.

Aww, thank you so much! Getting everything smooth is always the hardest part! Even now I can see all the little places I miss smoothing out in the photos. XD
And that card art really is adorable, isn't it? I jumped at the chance to try and bring it to life in 3D. :)

i just saw this on the front page and i can't believe i'm not familiar with your work! this is incredible, especially since he's so tiny! great job making him look smooth, and WICKED paint job :3
