Packrat by Mix (critique requested)

Packrat (critique requested)

Mix

Sooo I designed a mascot for the commission artist database I created a few days ago.

It's really turned into something big for me and I'm slowly working to turn it into its own thing independent of the drama/issues on FA; while it still has the overall goal of bringing exposure to artists/creators and helping them get more of a fanbase, I'd like for it to be completely self-supporting rather than piggybacking off of the armageddon that is FA right now (although it still will cater to that pretty hard right now ahaha)

You can find it, for the moment, here:

(name change and new blog design coming hopefully within the next day or two)

like similar rats and other rodents, they have a bit of a more downwards sloping face as opposed to caniforms

other than that i really love this fellas outfit! and the general colorscheme but i MIGHT BE VERY BIASED TOWARDS THE COLOR BLUE

THIS IS LITERALLY THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER DRAWN A RAT/MOUSE AHAAHHAAHA
I tried to make the muzzle more slender/pointed but I guess that's more to do with me basing it off how I've seen it done a lot rather than actually accurately lmao

its a good go at it for the first time! my advice would be definitely referencing real life before you take a look at how other artists have stylized a species. not that you SHOULDNT check out how it can be stylized, but not to rely on that as your first resource because in the end, different artists will pick different aspects to exaggerate when drawing a real world animal. observe the animal for your own purposes and figure out what you personally will feel are the aspects of the animal to exaggerate while still having it visibly read as that animal

        hope that helps!
