This is the first time we’ve ever played “When Consequences Come” before a live audience, at least that I can remember. I don’t know why it took so long… it’s a very personal song and it seems to resonate with a lot of people. I guess I was worried that I couldn’t come up with a live arrangement that would sound as BIG as the album version.

It really only took one rehearsal to convince me we could do it. When I played back even our first attempt, I remember thinking “man, if we did THAT on stage, I’d be happy”.

Now, because the song really gets to the heart of who I am today, I may make it a regular part of my performances. It’s cathartic, at least for me, and definitely fun to play!
