To my Dearest Olivia,

How have you been? It’s been a while since you’ve left for your spring break, and you mother and I thought a letter would help keep homesickness at bay! We both know you’ve had trouble with that before, but you’ve been getting better, you know!

When your mother and I first met all those years ago, she always got a kick out of telling me ghost stories about that place she heard when she was young. She’d tell me about the local boogeyman who’d hide in the halls, the phantoms from the lake, all sorts those silly campfire stories kids would tell to try and scare each other. I never really heard any myself when I was a child, and sometimes I’m glad I didn’t!

Anyway, we both hope you’re having a great time, and look forward to seeing you again in a week!
