I've recently become engaged to a very wonderful man. He open and interested with the furry fandom and all around supportive of it. His fursona is Panda(Bear) and melanistic buck. I'm still getting his markings/fur pattern figured out but I feel like I'm very close. The reason for him being part Panda specifically is because he served his LDS mission in Taiwan and is essentially fluent in Mandarine Chinese (he is to me, anyway). The reason for him being part buck is because he feels a connection to deer, stags, bucks, etc.
