Waxen Beacon by Hukeng

Waxen Beacon

Hukeng

When Baragon The Seeker lost his beloved young apprentice in a catastrophic summoning accident, grief drove the travelling wizard into crafting an effigy in her likeness out of enchanted beeswax and equip it with an eternal flame, to light a way through dark dungeons and dank dephts. Over the years, the mage developed what some of his peers called an insane affection for the lifeless thing he had created, and when his own flame finally started to fade and go out, he burned what little life force he had left to bestow upon the being the faint semblance of a soul. Since then the creature, wich simply goes by the name of Beacon, walks the earth aimlessly, a flickering flame in moonless nights, offering her light to any lost soul who can spare her a little bit of wax and some company...
