The reason for German Shepherd Di to get dropped and replaced with Doberman Di is because of the reboot and because
1) My fursona is half German Shepherd and it seems clunky (and narcissistic ahem)
2) I didn't like the original Di's personality and so, with her, I scrapped this version of Di
3) I'm into Dobermans right now
4) Screw German Shepherd Di :3
5) Her design is cheap, yuck
6) Screw GShep Di :3
