I mean, holy dang, ONE WHOLE NPC from FFXI is making an appearance in FFXIV! For all of a single quest! While nothing related to XIV happens in XI whatsoever!

I don't know why, but there's just something about this that bothers me. Like, it's billed as a crossover but only actually means anything in one game. It also does nothing to assuage my fear that Rhapsodies of Vana'diel is going to end with some sort of advertisement for XIV, but that's admittedly just me.

Anyways, the favor: do this quest and tell me how it goes, will ya? Specifically, tell me just how they explain the connection between Eorzea and Vana'diel (if they bother, of course); I want to know because FFXI really really loves its alternate universes and I wanna see if they treat Eorzea similarly.
