In 10 songs - Who are you? by PlayPossum

This is intended as a way for people to share songs in a more thoughtful way, feel free to steal if you want! If you prefer, participate in the comments. :)

Pick 10 songs you like that tell us something about you. Write a bit about why you like it and what part of you it represents.
This is not about lyrics or titles only, it can very well be based on a song's general feeling. Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster!

I don't have to remind you that picking a varied set of songs makes this more fun to everyone who is going to listen, right? :)
Here we go!

This is what I do ALL DAY LONG, if you ever wondered!

02 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jITQs_AXRok
This song, on the other hand, paints a better representation of who am I. Yup. Pretty accurate.

03 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euTyRhnqFtA
Have you evern fallen in love really bad? I haven't, but I figure it would feel somewhat like this!

04 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcT-xiD98vM
On the other hand, I had to reject a few people... and this song is a spot-on description of it. It somewhat hurts not being hurt like the person you're hurting, I guess.

05 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_IVh1bDOfc
This is what I think people think of me after they've known me for enough time.

06 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNzYIEY-CcM
Makes me think of childhood, even though I haven't played the game. Perfect peace of mind. This reminds me of cloudy days, under the rain, with a blanket, laying on the sofa, no school today. Everything is silence. I could live forever staring at the beautiful grayness of the weather.

07 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ9vkt7BHYI
This song represents my joy for life. Can anything get any happier than this?

08 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vov7UU8s9VI
This is what I think about death. Very grave, solemn, quiet. The last spark. In this case, the lyrics help, too.

09 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6PsMck5noM
This song helps to remind me humanity is not all bad. I don't particularly get the song's meaning, but the visual landscape that comes to mind is that of a simple rural life, where everyone look after each other. A caring people.

10 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voCCCrD96b0
This song makes me think of how life is beautiful, yet sad. Something that we don't quite control, but we nevertheless try to the very end. And it WILL end. Not only for me, but for everyone. Isn't that... beautifully sad? Who is going to be the last person standing? What will he feel? This, probably. A nice song to close this journal.

    MoonQuest - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzeeV_Dl9gw
I like this one for the encouraging tone that anybody can relate to. Also the passion and feeling it has; not necessarily a happy peppiness, but true energy and passion.

    The Fights - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oXMoPsk56Q
Are parodies allowed? Because this one is just so fun! That, along with the fact that it's about my favorite game, and that it tells a nice story.

Lift Your Head Weary Sinner (Chains) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgEAhVTjV44
I listen to a lot of Christian music, and this one just has a really good driving beat, a certain umph! to it, along with a good message.

    Sparrows - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRJZQFRyZ6s
The first time I heard this song, we had just switched to a station that was playing it, and the song was already about halfway through. But I immediately knew I liked it. It's passionate, with ever so slightly sorrowful and pained undertones that somehow make the overriding joy that much better.

Build Your Kingdom Here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbdJXKqVgtg
It's hard to not smile while listening to this or singing it. My youth choir and I sang this at the end of one of our concerts, and despite all the strained voices and sore feet (we stood a lot when we sang), it was as if a party had just entered full swing, and we had just as much fun on the encore.

    Thief - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDw_9vvLcWg
As you've probably guessed by now, I really enjoy passionate songs--though, passion isn't always happy. This song really reveals what it must have been like for that thief. ...But at the same time, it's sung from his position, as if comparing ourselves to him. There is a sad, tragic story there, but there's also hope.

    Times - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAVHeVDML5k
Long exhale ...This one really hit deep the first time I heard it, and it still draws out a bit of emotion from me when I listen to it now. I identify with the first verse through and through, and that's why the bridge is such a nice reminder for me.

    Failure to Excommunicate - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxrNvIcHUPo
I like a little heavy metal every now and then, but also a bit of slow music. This one's got them both, along with an address to the current state of events for Christians. It's also a reminder to who I should be, in a way.

    Keep Walkin' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX1G71WK-FA
What can I say? I like a good bass line!
Seriously though, the beat, the message, the tone; I like it all!

Proof of Your Love - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-2dKOfbC9c
This song sings all about what one of my overall missions should be. It's something I ask for off and on, though I feel like I should ask more often.

By the way, mind if I mention you in my journal on this topic? Just to say who gave me the idea.

Not at all, feel free to. ^^
Glad you took the time to make this, deciding on the tracks is a nice alone time for self-reflection.
I really liked Lift Your Head, Weary Sinner. And Times carries a very nice message.

        Nice to ~musically~ meet you!
