Those of you who follow my oh-so-interesting life know that last February, I had to move from my old apartment because of fire damage. We thought the apartment would be fixed somewhat quickly (first estimations from insurance expert was around June), so we've been living in the new apartment surrounded by cardboard boxes since then. After delays upon delays, ETA was moved to September, then to somewhere around December. Great.

Then comes today, when I get a call from the estate agency, who informs me that the repairs were just finished and that I can move back in whenever I want.

What. The. Flying. FUCK.

Don't misunderstand me : I do appreciate that the ETA was updated from "mid-December" to "right this frigging morning", as I want to move back in as soon as possible. But mother of carp, I expected they would warn me at least a few days in advance. Moving isn't exactly something you plan in 24 hours, even if much of our stuff is already in boxes.

Grunt.

This isn't the first time our estate agency just reeks of amateurism like this. The whole fire damage gag has been a rollercoaster of approximate dates and late paperwork. They try hard (they did find us the temporary apartment in a matter of days) but, as the agency director so appropriately puts it, "paperwork didn't follow". Considering the entirety of the agency's very JOB is doing paperwork for landlords, this is somewhat worrying >>

Anyway, it's time to prepare for the move. I really look forward to living in my old apartment again, which was much better than the one I'm currently living in. Let's just hope there will be no problem in the few next years ^^
