So, I have been scheduled to have an Endoscopy, and tomorrow morning is the date.
This will be the first time I have ever been put to sleep. The farthest I have ever gone with any procedure is getting an epidural when I was giving birth to my son. x_x
I can't say that I'm scared, but I have noticed an intense spike of nightmares since I was scheduled the appointment. They seem to be getting worse as the appointment gets closer. derp
Also, at night just before I go to sleep, I do tend to think about it and start freaking out a bit...
I can't help but think, "What if my body interacts with the anesthesia, and I die... leaving my son and my husband behind... just because I wanted to get my stomach checked for an ulcer??"
I kind of dismissed those thoughts UNTILLLL the lady called me this morning for a pre-assessment and asked this question: "Do you have a living will and active life insurance?"
I said, "...No."
DAMN IT. THE POSSIBILITY IS REAL.
The doctor said that any hiccups in the procedure is super slim...
BUT I AM SUPER UNLUCKY.
INHALES DEEPLY
I guess what happens happens. ; _ ; BWAAAA
Have any of your ever had an endoscopy?? What should I expect post-procedure??
