Hello New Friends! + Fur Reality? by fraulein

Hello hello new watchers and friends!
I hope you all are well! Thank you for the support and your attention and time. I'm always thrilled when people enjoy my work. c:

Tell me about yourself! Any favorite/new recipes, plans for Halloween (yesss it's so soon!), creative techniques you're working on?

Fur Reality?

It's coming up in October in/by Cincinnati! Is anyone attending? I'm debating (also because they have dealers tables open o: )

I did FR last year, and it was kind of a bust. It was the first con that I actually LOST money on as a dealer. It might be better this year, though!

If you're able to go and deal, but not have to pay for a hotel room, it might be worth a shot :)

Woof! That stinks I'm sorry to hear.

Do you mind me asking about what you sold? My business stock is more animal related and not exclusively /furry/ so I'm not sure if it's the right crowd. I can and totally would make a few themed things but with it right around the corner making a lot isn't realistic.

The usual stuff - I offered done-at-con badges, sketchbooks, custom keychains. Merchandise-wise I had vinyl stickers, keychains buttons, little dangle-charms.

I don't know that the variety of what I was offering was the problem; I think it was more that attendance was slim and there weren't enough dollars to go around a reasonably-stocked vendor room. Having non-furry-specific stuff might work to your benefit, actually! The only things I purchased at FR were candies from a candy maker, and some tiny trinkets from a vendor that was not at all furry.

Oh no I didn't mean to suggest what you were offering was the problem at all! I'm so sorry if it came across as that. ':c Since they haven't listed an artist alley I was more so wondering if you treated your table more like an "art-on-demand" or you had premade things. (but you totally answered that thank you!)

            I wasn't offended, no worries :)

I've found that at any furcon, either as a dealer or in artist alley, it helps to have both premades and offer custom-on-demand stuff (having the option to do take-home commissions helps a ton too!).

That's very good advice to keep in mind. Thanks! C:

Hello new fur friend! I'm a snow leopard/lynx and my favourite recipe would depend on the meal and mood. I love to cook and bake though! And I'm probably going to end up working on All Hallow's Eve sadly. But it's a job and I have bills like most adults. And no I'm not going to Fur Reality, I live north of you in Michigan actually. And I'm currently working on how to shade with prismacolours correctly.

      Hello!

It's totally difficult to pick a favorite dish- especially when there are so many great possibilities @u@' And Ugh I totally feel you about bill to pay- I'm the breadwinner at the moment so it's been a lot of work-work-work.

And fun! I've heard good things about Michigan, but I've yet to visit. We actually almost ended up in Ann Arbor, but my partner's college plans took us to Cincy.

Prisma markers or color pencils? I have both and love them! c:

Colour pencils, and I would love to go to Cincy. One of my favourite book series is based there.
