Post-AC...Post by Dorbulyu

I got back from AC this afternoon! It was my first AC, so of course it was pretty mental and things were all over the place. Here's a basic summary of things I felt.

GOOD. It was sweet seeing old friends and making new ones! I also finally met a lot of my online friends in the flesh, which was super swell. I hugged a lot of animal people and high-fixed quite a few people, too. I also needed some time away from work pretty bad, and AC, odd enough, proved to be good for it.

BAD. AC's really big. Like, huge. Bouncing around to hang with different people can be a hassle, Doubly so when you're drunk and it's really humid out. I also started feeling pretty off Sunday leading in to Monday for a whole load of reasons. Some people I wanted to hang with were also being super flaky and could not commit to anything, which was not fun!

CHILL. It's nice to hang with people you can call friends and just take a few days off all of our respective lives and just do whatever. Drink, play games, dance, walk, lots of walking...the downtime was oddly relaxing. It helped with the lingering anxiety of all that was going on.

RIDICULOUS. I went to the dance on Friday and got a little crazy when it was going on. I also went over to Fursace Saturday night--which turned out to be a bust, but was still pretty off the wall and enjoyable. Also, furry drum circle happened. I could feel the vibes, and they were good.

...Strange. The story behind this is far too elaborate and/or bizarre to explain through text.

So, will I go next year? I honestly don't know. It's a Good Con, but it was only really made with the company I kept. And it'll probably be some time before we're all in a position to go again.

That being said, we'll see what the cards hold.

Hmmmm. I think that regardless of the convention, what's most important is that you hang out with a group of friends. Fun at a con is really dependent on the people around you!

Indeed it is! I would go to more if I knew more people, but I have trouble keeping up with the ones I know well as is...
