So, I've received a negative review... by DKadugo24

A Conflict of Interests has gained a negative (1-star) review on Amazon.com

At the moment, I don't care. To me, that was something of a test novel to see how well I did in those genre, the genres of romance and of gay fiction. What the negative review simply says (to me) is that I haven't quite fully grasped the genre and that I need to work on it. Will I try again? Maybe, but for now, I have a few other projects.

Also, I get royalty simply by people borrowing it. Yeah, that's right. Because of Amazon's various programs regarding the Kindle, I still get money even if you don't buy it, since royalties go out to artists simply based on how many people borrow your book. I've gained twenty dollars from that right now just because a few people borrowed it instead of bought it; It's not much, but considering how low on the rank I am, I consider it a victory. Oh, and my first novel Night of the Silver Moon is also available to borrow, so you can get your book for free and I can get money. I don't like the word much, but now seems a good time to use it: swag.

Anyways, I'm also trying to get a few things ready, like a picture for Dreamweaver so that I can publish it on Kindle. It won't be long, but who cares? It's better written than most stuff I currently have ready.

So, I've received a negative review...

You should really think of just doing commissions. I make well over 20 each month from just commissioning stories for people. Short stories and the like. It's no Novel, but its still challenging and never the same thing each time so I'm honestly satisfied as a writer.

I don't work very fast for commissions; it'd have to be on a pay-by-hour scale since it could be two weeks or more before I return to a project. Also, the shortest thing I've written, the short story Dreamweaver is 14,500 words long from what was something that I thought would be 5000, so not exactly short.

Honestly paying by hour is a bit wrong... I can't see myself doing something like that or a by word basis. I get the thrill of it from just writing a great story. So I charge a flat rate per k words. And yeah, things do happen and you can't really help but take a month break. It can't be helped at all. Also, I somehow turned a 7-9k word story into half a novel at lke 20-21k words lmao. Creative explosions!
