My a Twitter experience thus far by Slainmonkey

When I joined the site I did't expect much, the 140 character limit seemed like a put off and I kinda expected I would just sorta slip in unnoticed. To my surprise Twitter has been astonishingly kind to me, I got a very warm welcome and have already met some nice new people I'd like to get to know better. For those of you still thinking of avoiding the site it might be worth reconsidering and those who are there feel free to say hi!

I would be in that category. I think mine is set only to display what I've posted on Tumblr, but I never use Twitter.

What else do you get out of it?

Well you can follow people who have some of their work exclusively on twitter and talking and generally contacting people can be easier there, even inspite of the character limit. It's just overall a very social place, more so then I expected of it.

Eh, fuck it, I'll give it another go. I feel like we're in furry limbo, wandering the desert until everyone FUCKING COMES HERE.

Well I haven't regretted it, made more obvious after yesterday when I saw an ad form MLP sex plush toys that showed up while I had my FA set for SFW.

            Lovely.

Yeah I've been getting pretty fed up with that site and it's bullshit, so I know what you mean. It kinda feels like the fall of Rome over at FA but there isn't really another viable place to house the community as a whole.

I gave up the fight when the owner of FAP went "LOL, pulling the plug for no good reason."

Weasyl is the best alternative, but having a small userbase means you're basically posting into the void. Same with Tumblr - there doesn't seem to be much of a community there either.
