On the United States and Human Rights by thepoolparty

We squeak with an air of authority no real political party has. Our few chosen words are a result of attention span and having a lot of empty space between our ears. We could be called 'long winded', and sometimes we are; but today we'd rather offer a little bit - since the reading itself is long and not all that easy.

Very recently, China released the scorecard of human rights violations that took place in the US in 2014 (in response to the US pretty much doing the same to China). This isn't about which country is worse to live in; this is a case where fragmented media coverage of 'isolated incidents' is turned on its head with the statistics and sources to back it up. It is a long list of things that Americans can improve upon. This list can be used as a means to begin making change happen.

For awareness, we ask that you read all the many pages when you can.
For being agents of change, we ask that you decide on one aspect of this to focus on.
Learning how best to make the world a better place could be considered its own set of skills.
Choosing what to focus on, how to change it, asking for help and choosing what scale - is of great importance.

Whether you are already doing something, or using this as a chance to begin, we look forward to hearing about it in the comments.

The issues that dominate this report are human rights abuses; which by many definitions are various forms of interpersonal problems. Other similarly serious problems (such as the environment) may not receive much emphasis in this report but also require diligent and decisive resolution and restoration. Without further ado, the Human Rights Record of The United States in 2014, published in English by the People's Republic of China (hosted in China): http://www.ecns.cn/2015/06-26/170804.shtml
