More Health Issues (not mine) by r-a-blackpaws

We took our youngest cat...a 7-year old Maine Coon/domestic shorthair mix...to the vet for his annual check-up.

The vet said that he has a "very faint, very subtle" heart murmur.

We need to have him fast for a bit (just overnight), then take him in on Tuesday for a blood draw to check for a thyroid issue.

Hopefully (and the vet believes that it is very likely), that is the cause of the murmur.

If not, we're looking at heart disease and medication...and an ultrasound to make sure. Either way, the ultrasound is happening.

So yeah...more freaking drama I did not need. grumples

Thanks. The vet had to REALLY listen to find it, so it was a really faint murmur. But still a murmur. Hopefully, it is just thyroid, but if not, we'll all deal. ^.^

He goes for a blood draw Tuesday morning. We should get the results by Wednesday. Ultrasound will likely follow that. Right now, he's his usual self...but it's unnerving to think that he could just drop at any second. sighs
