A Year Later... by Coon

I apologize. Life was moving very quickly and I fell out of curating my Weasyl account in favor of FA. Out of all the things that could possibly happen the sale of that site while Neer was still alive was the one thing I hadn't expected. No it isn't all doom and gloom yet, but the probability increases that we'll need to beat a hasty retreat from the place, and having a place set up here that we can come to in such an event is a good thing.

It's been a whole year since my last Journal. I will be going to FWA 2015 in...a few days apparently and hope to be seeing a lot of you guys wandering around the con! As for what I've been up to, here are some highlights: Went to FangCon in the Fall of last year and had a financial crash because I hosted a room and needed to schedule an extra day. Bought a washer and dryer, replaced an expensive component on my car; had to shut off cable and phone service over the holidays. Came out better off once the winter ended, put in lots of overtime at work, got a housemate down from Colorado. Hours are changing at work in May.

Yep I've been busy. Happy-ish though, in spite of everything. I think I have learned not to care about people not seeing anything in me. I no longer want kids and feel like I probably could remain single as long as I have a lot of friends. Hooray for growing up! Now to get back to adult life.

Welcome back! I neglected my Weasyl account too for the longest period of time and came back last month for the same reason you did and plan to make it my default site for art now. It looks like your year last year was much more complex than mine was, so no worries about having to take care of all of that. I myself am making quite an expedition to make it to RMFC this August. The convention hasn't even stated yet, but already it's the most expensive one I've attended (plane tickets are expensive, I'll say), but I will be meeting a few friends I've made online there, so it will all be worth it.

Sweet! I want to attend RMFC too one of these days. Maybe one year we will meet at a convention and get to hang out?

I hope to meet you at a convention too one day as well. For the moment, I'm testing to see if I have the capacity to travel with time zone differences involved after a very long period of not travelling. Given that Denver is a direct flight from San Francisco and only one time zone ahead, this will be a good way to test things, or at least, to build up the stamina for lengthier trips over time.
