I got plane finder on my mobile phone (no demo, full version) and suddenly I received a MAYDAY call of TC-JJN (Turkish Airlines)

Been tracking it, but according to Plane Finder, some MORE planes transmitted an 7700 (MAYDAY). What the hell is going on up there in the sky?!

EK17 has squawked 7700 2015-03-28 11:16:00
CX883 has squawked 7700 2015-03-28 07:19:00
5X917 has squawked 7700 2015-03-28 02:56:00
