Question: What do you like to see in an Artist? by gekkani

Just curious to what you all think appeals to you the most about the Artists that you watch, is it their style, their level of activity, their content, etc?

For me style has a lot to do with it, as well as consistency, and I personally try to do my best to keep my drawing methods efficient. No matter what the content is, I try to match the subject with my own personal style halfway, so that the identity of the character isn't lost underneath
my own idea of how to draw, but it doesn't come out as if I simply copied what I saw. I want to make my art recognizable but I also want to keep the character recognizable as well. Everyone here has so many unique and individual characters that if I drew them all the same way, then they would lose that special quality.
I seek out other Artists who seem to value these same things, and show it in their work, showing off their own personal style without totally transforming the character that they've drawn. I like to study others' work, trying to imagine their train of thought as they went through their process. I don't have any preference towards cartoon, realism, or others. As long as its done with an understanding of technique, I will enjoy it.

Feel free to discuss what you think, I'd love to hear your opinions!
