How to Improve Weasyl by Levi

Two things:

1) favorite submissions you like
2) comment on them, leave shouts, that sort of thing

Especially 2. People say there's no one here, there's no activity, etc. and they're right to a point. But the best way to fix that? Leave comments. Tell artists you're viewing/reading/listening to their work. Interact. Make connections.

Don't lurk and complain that no one is seeing your stuff and it's not worth spending time here. You want this site to work out? Make a commitment. If you don't, and this site falters, then you were and are part of the problem.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've been abusing my notifications tab as a sort of favorites folder and have about 300 submissions to address. (Thanks, those of you who imported entire galleries overnight!)

    You're absolutely right! I'm sure with this whole FA fiasco there will be plenty more furs on here in no time

      What's FA? ;)

      No, I know who they are, but I'm not thinking about them right now. I'm thinking more about getting this site more active. It'll also put to shame those who refuse to leave FA or to try Weasyl because "no one uses it." It won't do anything to solve the I'm-too-good-for-Weasyl mindset that people have, but if we eliminate their reasons one by one, maybe they'll come around.

      But I don't like to be comparing this site to another. I want to help this site to be the best it can be rather than trying to be better than the competition.

        I agree. I joined because I saw artists I liked were making accounts on here so I figured I would give it a shot. I'm all for activity and togetherness. I usually try to comment on everything I favorite and more. Since I'm so new I'm really not sure of the whole swing of things here but I just hope to bring people together with our commontinterests I suppose :)

    Favorited. I dunno on #2. I know at least 1 artist that doesn't really care for the thumbnail setup(mostly due to it having to be square and shrinking the image I think. For myself tho, I feel like it's preety good. It's a nice site to use, and the mobile version kicks butt soo much! Very much enjoy this place ^^

      I'm going to add a note to the above. I don't mean favorite this journal (although people are welcome to and it brings exposure) or comment here necessarily, but favorite and comment on other people's submissions.

      This site isn't without some flaws but what site isn't?

        Oh derper XP and yea thats true. I'll definitly try to do more sweeps through weasyl, both from my page, and for Hockey related stuff for the FHL page.

            The Furry Hockey League page www.weasyl.com/~fhl (Can't remeber what the user shortcut is) basically a furry simulation hockey league that I help to run and maintain a page here for a couple furs that left FA(plus one who joined from). I usually also try to favorite hockey related arts for the page.
