Paypal and commissions help! by fillyflight

Yeah, I'm in a dilemma right now about Paypal. I want to set one up and start commissions and I thought that I was set but now I'm at a road block. Any information I can get will be helpful so please say but I also have some specific questions which need answered first ^^ (I'm from the UK if that is necessary information)

  1. Do I need a business account? From reading selected information from a live journal comm I watch (reputable with a lot of commission artists) I was under the impressions that you didn't need one to get payments. However looking at the official paypal site it makes it seem like you need one.

  2. If I do have to get a business account (the main reason why I'm not jumping right in) can I buy artwork and items using it? I don't really want to have to set up two paypal but the site is really not clear on this part. (It's not really clear at all to be honest)

  3. Tax. Do I need to file tax under a certain amount (please only answer if you are from the UK - otherwise it might be wrong information) What my parents say, what the comm says and what the other sites say are all contradicting themselves and I'm just utterly confused right now. So any information from UK commission artists would be nice~

Once again any answers will be welcome at all ^^

I use pay pal for commissions all the time and I do not have a business account. So no it is not necessary. To get payments from other pay pal users you just send them invoices they pay the invoice and you get your money.

Can't answer your other questions though I'm from the states and do not have a business account.
