"AT LAST SIR TERRY. WE MUST WALK TOGETHER." by Myuphrid

Sir Terry Pratchett OBE has passed away aged 66.

Even the sad inevitability of his age and the Alzheimer's with which he stubbornly grappled right up until the end hardly dulls the shock of the passing of such a luminary. As an author of his wit and genius, he leaves behind a void in the literary world that may never be filled, and a legacy that will certainly never be matched.
Nonetheless, despite the tragedy that it will never be further built upon by his practised hand, it's a legacy that I feel anyone could be proud to have created for the world. He penned more than forty books, among them being perhaps one of the greatest fantasy series ever written, and with them achieved well-deserved worldwide acclaim. I believe that to leave behind a legacy of good for the world is all a man can hope to do come the end, and what could be better than the joy of a good book?

I've no doubt that he will be remembered as one of English literature's greatest figures, both by his fans and generations to follow, as a shining example of the heights one can achieve in the artform, and as an inspiration to writers of every stripe.

Goodbye Terry, and thank you.
