I recently got the correct forms / paperwork mailed out to California after discovering that I had been put through the wrong process. When I told the Chief that I had been doing everything wrong for over a month, he laughed, smiled, and said to 'Keep it up so we can get you back on track!'

Today's training was search and rescue. The teams that were there dressed in full bunker gear and crawled through a darkened part of the station with their masks covered. They also had a thermal imaging camera that was passed around and explained in great detail, along with personal stories that went with it.

Originally the training was going to be set for outside, but since it was getting below 40(f) with the wind ripping through the area, they stayed inside. It was exciting to watch and I ended up being a 'patient' for the last group. Definitely made my night and I went home smiling and singing in the car. (Lord knows I needed that pick-me-up after this last weekend's family drama.)

I'll return to the station again next Monday and continue on until the final meeting on the 23rd.
