Hey friends!
I just wanted to apologize for the sudden disappearance. The holidays were pretty crazy! All in a good way though. Thank you to everyone who made christmas super special this year. I was thrilled to have an abundance of commissions and orders for original works this year, which was absolutely wonderful. Last christmas season was the first year I'd ever really had a large amount of holiday orders. Thank you!!! I'll be doing my best to slowly get a backlog of work up here to share, but off the top of my head, I know there are a few things I forgot to snap better photos of in the rush to get everything out to their new homes. D'oh.
I was all geared up to kick off the new year right, but started off New Year's Eve with a cold that hit me like a truck (ha not the first time I've experienced that! ;3 lol) that I'm still recovering from. Then, quite suddenly, on January 7th, I lost my best buddy. Trunks, my cat of 14 years, suddenly became very ill in the afternoon, January 5th. We rushed him to the hospital only to have him leave us in surgery on the 7th. He had a cyst on his liver and had shown no signs of illness prior to that Monday.. I miss him terribly. Everyone has shown me such kindness in his passing, I am finally able to pull myself out of this depression and march onward with art and life. He has his own little shrine now with beautiful gifts of artwork from caring friends that I just do not deserve <3 My little healing doctor, yoga instructor, and zen idol has moved on and left so many lessons in his wake. <3
As I move onward with the year, I hope to land quite a few fun events to do in the Poconos and surrounding area. I wont be posting many items to my etsy for a while, as everything is going into these events. First on my agenda is my very own show at the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center. Opening reception is April 11th, from 11 am- 1 pm, but my work will be up all month long. I'm going to have a mixed media extravaganza of work. I'll definitely have photos after that <3 I'm currently working on a few shadowbox scenes which promise to be a lot of fun <3
Other fun things I hope to get into are the Audubon Arts and Crafts Festival in Hawley, Artisans on Ann (2nd year!), selling a piece to the PA Convention Center, and teaching a felting class at a festival! I'm very excited for the promise this year holds, even if it started out so terribly. I miss my baby, but I'm doing my best to march forwards, and all of you are my inspiration to keep going. Thank you friends. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. <3
