Unexpected boot from the military with less than a month to prepare, and we are in a fun sitaution.

So at the moment we are unemployed and living in a hotel. We’ve got one month paid, til Feb. 12. We’ve got the bills for this month paid.

Beyond that, we’ve got a few hundred for gas and food. No.savings, no.cash.

I’m.busting my butt on.art commissions trying to get money for food and gas. My.husband is applying to.many jobs.

It’s depressing, but we are doing our best.

Just have to.be faithful that as long as he keeps applying and I keep working on art, eventually everything will.work out.

Just have to keep trying.

At least I have a roof over my head for the next three weeks.

Our house that is waiting has not been lived in for 20 years. It’s been used for storage. It needs extensive work, from plumbing to installation of shower, sinks, floors, cabinets.

On the plus side, the bones of this house are lovely. The cabinets are these gorgeous old solid wood things that I can see myself taking furniture polish and making them.gleam.

There’s boxes of lovely real tile.

And boxes of slatted wood floor planks.

And a big beautiful old wood burning stove/furnace.

The upstairs has a gorgeous room at the top that I wish I could get into more easily, it’s a lovely A-shaped room.

Most everything is there…Just needs a lot of work. A LOT.

JOB is most important, but eventually we will get to.work on our house.

The yard is huge and full of things that need to.be hauled off. Old mobile home and trailer, big piles of wood and siding and huge wooden planks.

There’s a big solid shed at the back of the yard. Inside are MORE treasures, including a big antique dresser that I.claim, lol.

But there is room for a chicken coop.And rabbit hutch. And big garden.

It’s all.there…But years of work waiting. So much to.do.

So…one step at a time. Just one step at a time.
