    Oh!

1 - What motivates you to comment on a submission?
If there is something specific I like about the submission, I'll comment on it. I'll also comment on it if I think an artist has done something particularly well or if I feel like the piece is especially good for them. I also think commenting is a good way to keep social relations up, so if there's someone I'd like to know better I'll probably also pay special attention to supporting them and their work. I'm also more motivated to comment if the artist replies to the comments and shows appreciation for comments. I'm also more likely to comment on art from people I'm mutuals with rather than someone who doesn't follow me as well, and I'm more inclined to leave a comment for someone who I frequently see commenting or faving my art.

2 - What demotivates you to comment on a submission?
This one's kinda hard. I don't think I can really pinpoint anything that specifically /demotivates/ me.

3 - Are you discouraged to leave a comment if the submission already has a lot of comments?
It depends. Usually, yeah, I'll be less inclined to leave a comment if a submission already has lots of comments. But it depends on whether an artist replies to comments or not.

4 - Do you feel more inclined to leave a comment in a submission if the artist usually replies to its comments?
    See above.

5 - Do you find me intimidating to approach? Why?
Not at all! I think if this was a bigger community, like tumblr or deviantart, I might feel different. But since Weasyl is a comparatively small community I think it encourages a slightly more personal atmosphere where I find it much easier to approach people.

6 - What impressions do I give off (or, what do you assume about me)?
Not much, since I don't really know you! But you seem like a friendly, level-headed and chill person to me.

7 - Any suggestions you want to give?
    Nope~

    1) Commenting on a sub can be a mood thing for myself. I sometimes "save" submissions for a while until I can look through them, but sometimes I might clear a large amount of submissions at once. Things that somehow strike me at the moment are likely to be commented upon, there's not really more precise criteria. It's more likely for me to comment on works by folks I know on a personal or semi-personal, or at least "hi there" level.

    2) and 3) are somewhat intertwined. If the subject matter is off, if someone's commented what I would have liked to comment upon earlier, etc. but one shouldn't follow an apparent effect to any single cause on a whim.

    4) Yes. Though most of the time if I go through submissions on a quick browse I might just leave short comments.

    5) Not necessarily. Is there any reason one should fear the wee burd?

    6) I don't really find anything in particular. I hope I could administer myself to pay further attention to people.

    7) No suggestions, really. Sometimes I might link particularly sweet avians/dinos/etc to folks who don't follow Weasyl. It seems that it's still taking its first steps in the totally right direction, but lacks the momentum of other sites that either control the porn biz or allow questionable subject matter. There's a reason for there being such low numbers of followers and comments, I gather at least for myself - Can't speak for others, anyway - Sometimes I tend to just share links instead of commenting and the commenting/appreciation happens on an IM or other place than the actual page. Should try and fix that since comments are, to me, a measure of appreciation.
