So yesterday I grew the guts to join Flattr.

I realize that most people here prefer to use Patreon, but the thing is, even if I had a huge following (and I certainly don't), all I have to give back to the community is music.

That being said, Flattr doesn't mandate much when it comes to use of the site itself. The only thing required for creators and supporters alike other than registration is managing your finances there via a monthly pledge. Everything else, including actually paying creators, can be managed elsewhere.

For instance, I am a SoundCloud user. If a supporter who is registered with Flattr likes one of my uploads there, I get a portion of their monthly pledge. This I find particularly beneficial for SoundCloud users as it's currently the only realistic way to monetize tracks there.

I'd deeply appreciate it if my followers Flattr me. Subscribing is not required; just liking my Soundcloud tracks, YouTube videos, and blog posts on my site (which has a Flattr button now) will do.
