Beep boop Bamboo kaput. by Dr621

So, like I mentioned some time ago, I ordered a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch.

I had/have a surprising amount of problems with it.

The coord is indeed very short, like one of the reviews mentioned.

If I use a USB extension(cable-thingy), nothing recognizes any pressure from the stylus.

But I managed to fix that problem by just flipping the tablet and using the "left-handed" option.

But then my problem was this: http://puu.sh/1Rcnx

The thin lines are quick strokes. the thick one is a slow stroke, for better(or worse?) effect.

So I figured I'd downgrade my drivers, as someone posted a comparison of older drivers for Cintiq.

After some more errors, it seems to have fixed itself.

What's left, besides some silly problems I had because I didn't bother checking the settings, is the pen/eraser/buttons.

It seems like this tablet was built specifically for Photoshop. It works perfectly with Photoshop.

The eraser on the Stylus has no problems working whatsoever with Photoshop, but if I use it in SAI, it makes a selection.

Same with the Pan/Drag side-button. It zooms in and out uncontrollably in SAI, which is kind of butts.

Anybody else had that last problem? I would love to get it fixed, since SAI is much better for drawing than Photoshop, I feel.

I had the same issue with my Cintiq.

Hmm.. Mine sets up differently than yours, though.

Try going into SAI Then options>Digitizer Support, then find the button settings and make sure the Eraser setting says "Eraser" instead of "Use Default"

If that doesn't work, and if you can find it somewhere in your tablet settings, Try changing the eraser setting to a 'keystroke' for your short cut key in SAI. (It's usually E )

For your other problem, Try doing the last thing I mentioned. Try changing the default thing to a 'Keystroke' and make it whatever you want that shortcut you have already in SAI to be.

I'm not seeing any option like that, though. I've went through the options -panel multiple times. :<

This is pretty much all there is; http://puu.sh/1S9eO

        aww. :c

Well, to be honest, I almost never use the eraser side of the pen anyway. It's so much easier and quicker to hold down the button on the keyboard, to erase something, then let it go, to switch back, when I'm done.

That's what I also find myself doing. I got used to doing that from my old tablet anyway, so it's not really a big issue.

But after doing some practice strokes and trying to draw steady shapes, I'm noticing that the lines don't seem as smooth as I draw them. Like, they look a little blocky, and some parts of the lines are dead-straight. That would be good if I wasn't trying to draw a -circle.-

Hmmm... Try messing with your brushes settings in SAI. I spent a couple minutes putting this together, to kinda see what I'm talking about. http://filesmelt.com/dl/SAI\_Settings.png

Try making at least one of your pencil tools look exactly like that (by right-clicking and duplicating one)

If that's not the case at all, try going back to your tablet settings and try making the tip feel of the pen less firm.
