something that bugs me about some artist. [rant] by ClearKat

Im not looking for comments on this so yeah, Im just needin to get my feelings out so I don't explode on someone that isn't deserving of it.

what really pisses me off is when artists Promise you Time and TIME AGAIN that they will have the things they owe you done tomorrow or within a few days, Its like I Really hate being lied too. I am by no means an impatient person but when you keep saying you will have it done or a sketch to show me tomorrow then I really expect and hope you will come through on your promise.

Its like I've had 3 art pieces that I either Commissed won in a Raffle etc that if I wouldnt have told the artist to forget it I would still be waiting on even now [ I had waited a year and a half for each piece]

It really saddens me when that happens especially when I paid for something.

its like I understand when real life gets in the way, but its off putting when artists can draw up their bestest friends 50 pieces of art in the same night for free or draw up their friends commission right away, but procrastinate on things that have been waited and promised on for months.

Mind you this is not directed at any one artist.

I agree with this fully. I'm actually, well have been waiting, for a year on an art trade from someone, and it's really beginning to tick me off, and then I'm waiting on art from some people I traded characters to.

      ah that sucks

Yeah. And finally a few months ago I told the person about their part not being done for a while, and they didn't contact me several months later on here. So that's why I require peeps to do their art part first, so that way I avoid getting ripped off.

This, upvote, agreed, thumbs up, like, etc. 5 million times. I couldn't agree more.

I think waiting more than a month is bullshit. I always ask for ETA/average turn over before commissioning someone. And then when I find an artist I like that has decent turnover, I tend to commission them over and over again.

It's COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE (to me) to keep saying "tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow." two artists have done that to me already and after I finally got the things I am never commissioning them again.

Time is a HUGE concern for me. It's #2 on the list of things I look for in an artist I want to commission. It can be a deal breaker or a deal maker. If an artist doesn't have an average turnover time to offer, I won't commission them and I'd advise other people don't as well.

mmhm I normally am pretty good about it, and one of the artists im having trouble with I most likely won't work with again. Because of this. its like one piece I've been waiting over 2 months on. Im tired of being told tomorrow or just not responded too at all.
