What the heck? by Lava

I tend to be out of the loop a lot when it comes to drama. I mean I don't follow a lot of journals as much as I should as I'm mostly here for the art.

Whatever is going on, I only have a vague understanding of and I'm not going to pick sides on the matter (Somebody made a callout journal and the mods stepped in for damage control?) Though this tendency that people seem to have of jumping ship or threatening to jump ship at the drop of a hat gets draining after a while. There's only so many art sites out there and they all cater to a different demographic. And I seriously doubt any of them are perfect. We can all try to attain the Shangri La of art hosting websites: Where clients are plentiful, the porn is well executed, every feature we could possibly want, and we can say whatever we want regardless of the consequences because there are none. Unfortunately such a site does not exist.
Go ahead, panic and jump ship if that's how you cope with things. I don't pretend to know the full details, and personally it's none of my business. Some people may consider my lack of concern part of the problem. But, the fact of the matter is that there is far too much going on in the world, injustices everywhere you turn, for me to possibly keep up with everything. I have my own choice of social issues to tackle, mostly involving science and education, which I feel allows me better time to understand the full nature of the issues I choose rather than not be able to look deep into the nuances of some injustice because everyone demands I focus on every injustice there is.
And if I don't rally behind people who have jumped on the social justice bandwagon? Suddenly I'm a terrible person and part of the problem. Never mind that I actually do charity work when I can.
I will say this- in the USA the first amendment states:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Meaning that the government can't tell you what you can or cannot say. However that doesn't mean that companies who provide a shouting box for you can't in the name of damage control and maintaining a peaceful environment focused on the intent of the site.

What the heck?

Shit happened, and now there's some sort of mass exodus going on. It's just another case of fragile people getting hurt, other people not caring, and the apparent "defense of rape culture." I'm just sitting on the fence, eating popcorn, and reading the comments.

I'm not sure how much of a "mass exodus" it really is, I had a grand total of one person on my watch list post up a journal about leaving this site.
