This is probably the only post I'll make on this subject on this particular site. I've got one blog inundated with this topic already, and I'm very close to just shutting everything down and quitting the Internet entirely (with the obvious exception of Steam) due to this issue.

So I'm just going to post this here and otherwise be done with it.

Hate is never okay. Harassment is never okay. Bullying is never okay. There is no "except for when..." or "it's not X if person is Y..." or any of that. It is an immutable fact that hate and hateful behaviour is never okay. Not for any reason, no matter who or what it is against, regardless of the circumstance. It's just not an acceptable mode of interpersonal behaviour.

There are too many people disguising their hate as some form of "activism" these days. It has become a major source of anxiety for me as I have had to narrow my choice in friends further and further to the point that I now completely lack any social life online or offline.

I have no room in my life for people who condone belligerence, violence, or any form of hateful behaviour whatsoever. No matter their reasons or excuse, no matter their views on whether it's considered "hateful," no matter what they might say about me. I just can't keep people like that in my life.

Chances are if I have removed you from contacts this year it is because you are part of this problem. If you think harassment, bullying, or any other form of belligerent or disdainful behaviour is acceptable so long as certain conditions are met, I don't want to know you. If you think libel, slander, rumour-spreading, etc. are perfectly acceptable forms of "activism," I don't want to know you.

Hate is never okay. It just isn't. So if you're willing to call people out on such behaviour, even if it means losing "friends," then maybe I'll be interested in getting to know you again. But unless a decent effort is made to that end, you should just forget you ever knew me. Unfollow me from everywhere, remove my existence from your line to the Internet. Because people like you are what make life for people like me unworthy of living.

And I'd bet some of those hateful friends of yours would love to see me eat a bucket of vindictive death simply for daring to see them for what they are.

And yes, a large part of posting this is to serve as a direct message to someone in particular who has made it pointless to directly confront regarding this issue.
