I'm not even sure why I'm bothering, but... by Blitz Winters

Political opinions, such as they are. Keep in mind, I have little to no experience even paying attention to politics, let alone being involved. In any case, I firmly believe that the full purpose of government is to enact the will of its people, protect its people, and maintain general order within its people.

I strongly believe that having political parties obstructs this, as members of the party are focused on their party's ideals and goals, rather than the ideals and goals of the general populace.

I believe that general healthcare should be provided by the government- although I have nothing against more advanced polices being offered by the private sector. This falls under protecting the people.

I believe that gun ownership should be regulated and require background checks, although not flat out prohibited. This also falls under protecting the people.

I believe that the military should be significantly more defense oriented. As it is, the military's focus is far too offensive. Invasions of other countries should be limited to countries that are an imminent threat to us or our contractual allies. This falls under both protecting the people and enacting the will of the people.

I believe in maintaining a police force that is accountable for its actions. I admit that I am not certain how to achieve this to the extent I would like, but I still believe in it. This falls under protecting the people and maintaining general order.

That's all I had to say.

I'm not even sure why I'm bothering, but...
