I'm Finally On Twitter by Ransom

Back in 2009, I registered a Twitter handle for myself, but left it unused. Pretty much the only interest I've had in Twitter thus far has been occasionally reading posts by Wint and Bill Nye. The only reason why I snagged a username back then is because I figured that I might need it in the future to network professionally.

The future is now.

I've got two, actually: one that I'll be using for my furry stuff, @ransomdracalis; and the original that will be used for professional stuff, @robertkylehall. I keep my furry and professional identities pretty distinct, so don't expect any cat business in the latter, but you can follow it if you'd like to see what I can make in the way of graphic design and other non-furry art.

So why the sudden change in attitude? On the furry side, I'd like to get my work out there to a wider audience. I'm already crossposting to Tumblr, and I'm sure that it'd be beneficial to use Twitter in a similar way.

On the non-furry side, I've really been leveling up my professionalism lately, and developing some cool work. I'm learning a lot about art, and branching out to other disciplines as well, like basic web design and coding. I'll be mingling with a lot of other professionals in the upcoming year, and Twitter could be a good way to network with them. Similarly, though I don't really use Facebook, I touched up my profile and friends list a bit in anticipation of that.

My next big project is to finish my website. Ironically, the part that I'm best at has been holding me back the longest: designing a logo and kick-ass splash image. I've never felt so stumped designing anything for a client; I suppose I'm just an extra-perfectionist when it comes to my own branding.

I've got some cool news coming up soon; I've got a feeling that things are about to start going really well for me as an artist.

Followed, and hey, if you need any help with the website maybe I can lend a hand. I'm all thumbs when it comes to Javascript, but HTML/CSS and a bit of PHP? No problem.

If I get stumped, I'll take you up on that. Thanks!
