It’s that time a year, where it’s almost The time of the year. by Swanda

Aaah yes, christmas decorations going up everywhere. It was only like a week ago the first store in town put up the Holiday candies, now they all have. Geeeh, It’s not even November and here I am, eating “brunkager.” A very old, traditional kind of Danish spicy cookies. And its good. I forgive the early Christmas circus, cuz this is reaaaal good ;A;

        "BECAUSE DELICIOUS"

Lebkuchen are my absolute favorite things asdadafdgfhgjk there's only one pace I've found that even has them and it's RANDOM NOT EVEN SEASONAL auggghhhh

American baked goods suck unless you make them from scratch yourself. :C

Oh, so true! The only redeeming sweet I've found is licorice, but that isn't even that American

Danes are crazy with licorice, omg you have no Idea. It's almost insane!
Especially those with ammonium chloride and salty taste to it.
There is not the type of sweets or alcohol, you cannot get with licorice over here.
My mom is totally hooked on Ice cream with licorice. <_> ew

Hey now, don't knock it till you try it. So, know a good place to live in the area?

              • Link

I don't really like Licorice in the first place and unlike coffee, mixing it with Icecream wont change that XD
Trust me I've tried. And well, I really loved living in Horsens. Might even move back there some day, so I'd say its a good place : P

I'll have to learn the language if I do, but I just want to go away from America and all.

Myeah, I hear that a lot. And the dream places tend to be Canada or somewhere in Scandinavia.
Fair warning though, Danish is a really hard language to learn : P

            • Link

No, I'm talking licorice licorice, but it's pretty good. Kinda sucks about the licorice.

              • Link

Traditional tastes too much like Jaegermiester so I stick to cherry haha :P

                But yeah asdsgdhdhf

If it's edible, I'll eat it. If it's not, put siricha on it and it's then edible.

Seeing as I'm from Denmark, that tiny zid on top of Germany, we have those too : )
We call them "Honey cake Hearts" though, and they tend to look like this:

            I'd eat those all day...Now I'm hungry!

            • Link

One of my Fiancés childhood friend's mom worked at a factory making them.
She would bring them back home in giant bags, and let the kids eat as many as they damn well pleased.
To this day my fiancé can't even look at them without getting sick XD

I've been seeing Xmas candy and decorations slowing infiltrating the Halloween stuff the past two weeks. Xmas sweets are the best. <3
